Get stuff out of cans easier
You can file this under obvious, but it's one of those things nobody thinks about until told...
When you store canned goods, you always store them with the top up so that you can read the label on the can easily. When you take the can out to open it, again, you always open the top since most cans can only be opened that way. Depending on what is in the can, this often leads to having to get out a spoon, spatula, or some other sort of implement to scoop everything out of the can.
If you want to get stuff out a can easily, store it upside down. If you do this, the stuff that sticks to the "bottom" of the can will now be at the top of the can, and when you open it, it'll come right out. This also leads to most of the liquid in the can being on the bottom of the can when you are opening it. Again, this helps everything come out quickly and easily. Storing the can upside down does make it harder to read, but since most cans are easily identified by their packaging, this usually isn't much of an issue for me.
