Customize desktop icons in Vista

If you want to customize the desktop built-in desktop icons for the services that always live on your desktop in Vista (Recycle Bin, My Computer, and Network), you can. You can even set up the different icons that are used when the Recycle Bin is full or empty.

Right click on the Desktop and select Personalize.

Click on the Change Desktop Icons link which will be in the upper left corner of the Personalization screen.

The desktop icons will now be shown. You can click on on icon and then press the Change Icon... button. This will bring up a dialog that allows you to select an image you'd like for use as a desktop icon.
