Gimp no longer working on Mac OS X 10.5.7

When I upgraded my Mac to version 10.5.7 of OS X, it killed Gimp and seemingly X11. When I tried to start Gimp, it'd just sit there and do nothing. And if I tried to start X11 manually, it would never show up.

To get Gimp working again on OS X 10.5.7, I had to install the latest version of Gimp and XQuartz.

Both are very easy to install. You can find the latest version of Gimp for the Mac at http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/Download.html. Once it downloads, double-click the .dmg file and then drag Gimp into your applications folder.

Installing XQuartz is also easy. You can find the latest version at http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/X112.3.3.2. Once it downloads, double click the .dmg file and then run the package installer.

Once it was all installed, I again had Gimp working on my Mac.

good idea, but the x11 you link to says on my Snow Leopard machine "This update is designed for OSX Leopard Only". I can't get gimp working...
