Last.fm for your iPod
ScrobblePod is a Last.fm music scrobbler for Mac OS X which handles songs played both in iTunes and on your iPod. There are existing scrobblers out there for the Mac, but none of them include music that is listened to on your iPod. ScrobblePod manages when tracks are scrobbled to Last.fm, allowing songs played both in iTunes and on your iPod to be scrobbled successfully.
If you are not familiar with scrobbling, all this means is that when you play a song, the title and artist are sent to a place that keeps track of what you are listening to; in this case, Last.fm. In and of itself, this is no big deal. But scrobbling sites like Last.fm make use of the information on your listening habits to introduce you to new artists and bands that you have not listened to, but which your current music indicates you would probably like. This is a great way to stumble upon new music.
