If you want to see more favorites in your favorites bar in IE8, switch to showing just the icons without any text. You get like 3 times more favorites in your bar then.

To do this right-click on any of the favorites in your favorites bar and select "Customize Title Widths" -> "Icons Only" from the menu that is shown. This will convert to showing the icons with no text and it saves a lot of space in the bar
