Play flac or ogg files in iTunes
So you want to play open source music formats in iTunes. Here's a quick, painless way to do it:
Go to http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/download.html and download XiphQT 0.1.5 (Windows). Unzip the folder and extract the contents.
Copy XiphQT.qtx file to the 'QTComponents' sub-folder of your base QuickTime installation directory. Typically it means:
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTComponents
You may need to create the 'QTComponents' folder if it doesn't already exist in your QuickTime installation.
Restart iTunes.
