Improve home heating in the winter

If you have a ceiling fan in your house you may be able to use it in the winter to help improve the heating of your home. Check your fan to see if it has a switch to reverse the direction of the fan. If it does, set the switch so that instead of blowing air down, it blows air up. Set you fan on the lowest setting, and then turn it on to improve the heating in your home. When the fan blows air up, this forces cool air up and the warm air down. This mixes the air in your house and helps keep all the warm air from hanging out up near the ceiling. The result for you is a warmer house with a lower energy bill and less energy consumption
