Reduce fat when baking

To reduce the amount of fat in baked goods, you can replace oil called for in the recipe with an equal amount of apple sauce. As you remove oil though, your baked goods may get dry. I find that replacing half the oil with apple sauce usually results in baked goods that taste just as good as the ones made with the full amount of oil--but with half the fat.

My friend always uses apple sauce in her brownies and no one can ever tell the difference.
