Make your own ant traps
If you've got ants, here's an easy way to make your ant traps.
Mix up 1 cup of Borax (I use the 20 Mule Team brand), one cup of sugar, and three cups of water. Stir the mixture carefully.
Put the mixture into shallow (about 2-3" high is what I use), wide glass jars so that it comes up to about 1" from the top of the jar. Using a hammer and a nail, poke a bunch of holes in the lids of the jars. Then attach the lids to the jars, set out your traps, and watch the ants come a running.
Since this mixture contains borax, it is harmful if ingested. Make sure it can not be accessed by kids, pets, or snack seeking visitors who you don't want to injure.
