Using public computers

Lot's of places are installing computers that are available for public use. There are computers in internet cafes, airports, hotels, coffee houses and more, I've even seen one in a hardware store. If you are going to use one of these computers, you should be very careful to never enter any personal information into them or to go to sites that require you to enter a password. Since these computers are publicly used, most of them are teeming with spyware. Also, unscrupulous vendors of such terminals may install keytracker software which keeps track of every key pressed on the keyboard.

Because of this, do not ever enter a password on a public computer.

Also, never enter personal information, even if it's not on a website. For example, do not include personal information in an email you are sending, even if you are sending it through a third-party service like GMail.

Always assume that everything you are doing on these computers can be tracked and use them accordingly.
