Opening files of unknown type on Windows
If you have a file that you can't get to open when you double-click on it, you'll probably find Window's built-in solution to this problem doesn't work too well. If you're looking for an alternative, give OpenWith.org a shot. Once installed it updates your right-click menu with a Openwith.org - How do I open this? option. Select this option and you'll be told what application you need to open the file. And if there is a freeware application available to open this file type, they provide links to download the application. So easy, even your Grandma will be able to open any type of file you send her.
