I have found that some of my worst bouts with tooth pain have been taken to a tolerable level with the help of a cough drop. Even the
cheap brands seem to do the job. The problem with oragel, and stuff like that is that it doesn't last. The cough drop works until it's gone. Now I'm sure there are situations where nothing will help accept for a dentist, but until that time just try a drop.
