Transferring music to a Kindle 2
You can transfer music to your Kindle 2 to be played in the background while you are reading. The Kindle 2 isn't much of a music player. In fact, it's pretty lame. It only works with MP3. And it only plays the music in the order that the songs were loaded onto your Kindle. But if you can live with that, here's the steps to transfer the music onto your Kindle 2.
- Connect your Kindle 2 to your computer via a USB cable. You need to make sure you're using a powered USB plug on your computer/hub or it won't work.
- Your Kindle 2 should show up as a USB drive on your computer. Open up the drive and find the "Music" folder. Transfer your MP3 files (make sure the format is MP3, the Kindle doesn't support any other format) to your Kindle by dragging them into the "Music" folder.
Once the transfer is complete, you can disconnect from your computer.
