Leaky shower diverter

My shower has been leaking more and more lately. When I pulled on the thing to divert the water from the bathtub faucet up to the shower, half the water was still coming out down below. So all my showers were using twice as much water since half of it was going onto my feet and then right down the drain.

It turned out to be really easy to fix this. I took off the lower spout (it was held on with one hex screw) and took it to the hardware store. They set me up with a new spout and diverter. I was able to install it in about 10 minutes and I didn't have to turn off the water to the shower or anything. Now when I pull the thing on the spout to take a shower, all of the water gets diverted up to the shower and I'm wasting a lot less water.
