Disable YouTube video annotations
The annotations feature is YouTube reminds me of when PCs first became available... every party invitation you got came with 20 different fonts and looked like crap. Yeah, video annotations may someday be useful. But at this point the way people are using them is just plain annoying. Luckily YouTube lets you turn them off. Here's how.
- While you are logged in on YouTube, click on the account link in the upper right part of the page.
- Select Playback Setup on the left side.
- Open the Annotations section by clicking on it (if it's not already open) and uncheck the box next to Show annotations.
- Click the Save Changes button.
Once you make this change, the annotations that people add to videos will no longer be shown to you.
