Save energy with LCD and Plasma TVs

When you buy a new LCD or Plasma flat-panel television it'll have the picture set to the brightest settings by default. They do this so that the pictures looks good in stores where there is a lot of ambient light. The problem at home is that at it's brightest setting your TV is using about twice as much energy as it does when it's in the "standard" picture mode. So if you want to save some electricity make sure you adjust the picture of your new TV and take it off the brightest setting.
