Provisioning Profile not showing up correctly in XCode

I just spent, or should I say wasted, several hours trying to get a provisional profile for an iPhone application to show up correctly in XCode. I created the provisioning profile through the normal means and installed it in XCode by dragging it into XCode. After installing it, it wouldn't show up correctly in the Organizer (Window -> Organizer from the XCode menu).

When looking at the phone in the Devices section of the Organizer, the new provisioning profile showed up in the Provisioning section. So far so good. The problem is that the profile would not show up in the Provisioning Profiles section. As a result of it not showing up there, I couldn't select the provisioning profile when I was trying to build, so I couldn't get my application on my development iPhone.

I tried every thing: creating new certificates, new App IDs, new provisioning profiles. Uninstalling, reinstalling, and so on. I wasted several hours on this and I still couldn't get the provisioning profile to show up.

The thing that finally fixed? I quit XCode and restarted it. That's it. After that, the provisioning profile showed up correctly. So if you find yourself in the situation where your provisioning profile shows up in the Provisioning section of your device, but it won't show up in the Provisioning Profiles section of the XCode Organizer, quit XCode and restart. You'll save yourself several hours of frustration.
