Reducing planer snipe

Planer snipe is a small divot that happens at one end of a board when you put it through a power planer. It almost always happens as a result of the wood going into or coming out of the planer when it's not perfectly flat. The easy solution to planer snipe is to setup infeed and outfeed support. You can use portable supports/rollers or whatever you have. But make sure they are level.

Check this by putting a board on the infeed table and the other end on the infeed support and check it with a level. Once it's level, do the same for the outfeed. You also need to make sure that the supports are properly positioned so that when the board comes off of it, it does not move. Once you get this all set up, it'll take care of your sniping problem.
