GMail RSS feeds
While they don't make it very well known, GMail does support an RSS feed of your new email messages in GMail. You can get the RSS for your GMail inbox by subscribing to:
But this will only work if you RSS reader supports authenticated feeds. If it does, the first time you connect, your RSS reader should ask you for your GMail account name and password. And after you enter it, it should work for evermore.
If your RSS reader does not support authenticated feeds, you can still get a GMail RSS feed, but you need to include your login information in the URL of your feed request with a URL that looks like this:
where you replace username with your actual GMail account username and password with your actual GMail account password.
