femotcells for verizon users
If you live or spend time in an area without cell phone coverage but you have wi-fi available, Verizon is now offering a femtocell. This device plugs into your internet connection and creates a mini cell-phone tower so that you can then use your cell phone and all of the traffic will be sent over the internet. Sprint's been doing this for a while, but who really uses Sprint? But now it's going mainstream as Verizon is offering a femtocell solution (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=gotoFemtocell). It costs $250 at this time. But if you're stuck without service at your house, you'd probably be willing to pay a lot more than that to get your cell phone working.
