Altitude and Plasma TVs
When plasma TVs first came out, they tend to not work well at altitudes over 5000 feet. Many models would not look as sharp above this altitude, and the lifetime of the plasma TV was shorter due when it was used at altitudes above this. As a result, many people at higher altitudes went with LCD TVs instead since they don't have any altitude sensitivity.
If you live at high altitude and you are looking for a flat-screen television, don't write-off plasma TVs any more. Most of the newer models out there are far less altitude sensitive than they used to be. Almost all of them work fine up to 7500 feet, and many now work up to 10,000.
