In older versions of iTunes it would automatically import a CD when you inserted it. Not so with iTunes 8. In iTunes 8 when you insert a CD it prompts you asking if you want to import it. If you want to skip the prompt and automatically import CDs that are imported, you can configure iTunes 8 to do this. Go to the menu bar and select iTunes > Preferences and then click on the General tab. There is a selectbox next to When you insert a CD and you can select either the Import CD or Import CD and Eject (if you want it to automatically eject the CD after it is imported).
