Put a trash icon on the Ubuntu desktop
The easiest way to put a trash can icon on your Ubuntu desktop is to use the Configuration Editor. If you have enabled it yet, this tip describes how to do that: http://www.tipstrs.com/tip/7668/Enabling-the-configuration-editor-in-Ubuntu.
Start the Configuration Editor by going to "Applications" -> "System Tools" -> "Configuration Editor".
In the left side of the panel, expand the "app" folder, and then the "nautilus" folder under it.
Click on the "desktop" folder.
You can then move to the right side of the panel and you should see a field called "trash_icon_visible" with a checkbox next to it. Click the checkbox.
Close the Configuration Editor and you should now have a Trash Bin on your desktop.
