Fixing loose cabinet door hinge holes
The screws used to hold on cabinet doors are pretty small relative to the amount of weight they are holding, especially when you consider how often a cabinet door may get opened. So it's not surprising that over time the screws for cabinet doors often get loose. If you don't tighten the screw right away, the repeated opening and closing of the door when the screw is loose will result in the screw hole getting enlarged. Then when you go to tighten the screw, you won't be able to get it tight.
If this has happened to you, here's how to fix it.
Remove the loose screw. Get yourself some wooden toothpicks or wooden matchsticks (with the ends cut off). You'll want to have enough to fill the hole. Dip the toothpicks or matchsticks into some wood glue and then force them into the hole breaking them off at the surface of the cabinet. If they don't break flush, you can trim them up with an exacto knife once the glue dries. Once the glue is dry, put the screw back into the hole, it should hold fast now.
