Fixing dead LCD pixels
There are millions of pixels on an LCD screen, and chances are a couple of them will eventually die. But all is not lost, as many times dead pixels can be brought back to life.
The first step is to find the dead pixels. To do that, download the dead pixel locater from Astris: http://www.astris.com/dpl/. Once you get it, run it and will make it easy for you to find dead pixels.
If you find any dead pixels, the first step in bringing them back is a gentle massage. Gently rub the area of the dead pixels with a soft cloth for a minute or so, this will often bring the pixel back to life.
If that doesn't work you'll have to resort to more extreme measures to bring the pixel back. JscreenFix (http://www.jscreenfix.com/) cycles every pixels on your screen through colors very rapidly. This often has the effect of reviving dead pixels on an LCD screen.
