Expand columns in the Mac quickly

If you use the column layout of the Finder in the Mac, you probably run into the problem where the file name does not fit in the column. There's a cool trick that you can use when this happens so that the column will automatically expand to match the width of the longest file name being shown. Just double-click on the double vertical line icon below the scroll bars (shown in the image below in the red circle). When you double-click it, the width of the column will adjust automatically.

One thing to note, this only works in the Finder itself. If you get a finder-like window from another application (such as when uploading a file in a browser), this does not work.
