Add a website link to the Start Menu
In Windows XP (not sure about Vista), you can add a link to a website in your Start menu. This way, you can get to a site quickly without having to go open your browser first. Here's how it is done.
1 - Right-click on the Start button and select Explore.
2 - This will pop up a Windows Explorer window. There will be two panes shown in the window. Right-click in the right-hand pane and select New, when this opens a new menu select Shortcut.
3 - A new window will open asking for the location of the item. Type in a complete URL like so: http://www.tipstrs.com and select Next
4 - You can then give this link a name. This is the name that will be shown in the Start menu. Once you enter the name select the Finish button.
You'll now have a link on your Start menu. Selecting the link will open your browser for you. So now you are one mouse click away from your favorite sites.
