Ubuntu update check frequency

Ubuntu checks daily for new updates, this is the most frequent interval available for checking in Ubuntu. If you want to check less frequently you can. Change this in System > Administration > Software Sources. Once there, select the Updates tab and then change the value next to Check for updates. Available options are Daily, Every two days, Weekly, Every two weeks.
