Open items with a single click

In Windows XP and Vista, it's possible to set up your computer so that you only have to single click on things to open them instead of double clicking.

To set this up go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel and open Folder Options.

In the General tab there is an entry called "Click items as follows". You can choose the "Single-click to open an item" option to allow opening with a single click, or "Double-click to open an item" to use the usual double click option.
