Avoid data charges when roaming with a blackberry

Most phone plans charge fairly outrageous rates for data transfer for when you are roaming. If your plan is one of these, the safest way to avoid these charges is to configure your phone so that when it's roaming the data services are disabled. This keeps things like your Mail application from accessing the data service and racking up huge bills without you even knowing it's happening.

For the blackberry users out there, here's how to configure your device so that it automatically turns of the data services when roaming.

1) From your home screen select Options.

2) Select Mobile Network from the list.

3) For the Data Services option, change the value to Off When Roaming.

Save your changes and your phone will automatically turn of the data services when you are roaming... saving you a ton of money in the process.
