barbecuing shish kabobs

if you are going to be barbecuing shish kabobs using wood skewers make sure you soak the skewers in water for an hour before you use them. This will keep the skewers from burning when they are on the barbecue and your kabobs will taste better for it.

Another problem people have with grilling kabobs is that as the food cooks it gets loose on the skewer so it falls off or moves around too much to cook easily. To prevent this add a clove of garlic to the ends of the skewers and push everything together tightly. The garlic will stay put as you grill and this will keep everything in place. It'll also add some slight garlic flavor to your food.
