Click sound in Internet Explorer
For some unknown reason, every time you click on a link in Internet Explorer, there is an annoying little "click" sound. You can look in your preferences for Explorer all you like, but you won't find a way to turn this off.
Happily, there is a way to get rid of this clicking sound, it's just a little more involved.
Start by opening your Control Panel.
Then select the Sounds and Audio
Once that panel opens, select the Sounds tab.
In the "Program events:" you'll see a lot of events and there corresponding sounds. Scroll down (way down) until you find one called "Start Navigation" in the "Windows Explorer" section.
Click on that entry and In the "Sounds:" pull down you see a sound listed. Select that pull down and select the "[None]" option. Seeing as how it is Windows, you'll have to confirm that you really want to do this.
Once the sounds is changed, click the "Apply" button and sound-free browsing will be your in Internet Explorer.
