Applying caulk

Caulk can be a real mess to install and it can be hard to get a good clean joint. But there is an easy way to make applying caulk easier, cleaner, and all while giving better results. All you need is masking tape.

Before you apply the caulk, apply masking tape to both sides of the joint right up to the edge of the joint. You can then squeeze in the caulk. Once the caulk is applied use your finger to press it completely into the joint and give it a smooth look and remove the excess. This works a lot better if your finger is wet so I keep a bucket of water handy. Once you are done you can then remove the masking tape and you'll have a perfectly caulked joint.
