Keeping potatoes from sprouting
If your potatoes end up sprouting new plants before you get a chance to use them, it's probably due to the way in which you are storing them. To make potatoes last as long as possible store them in a paper bag in a cool, dry, dark area and, this is the key, put an apple in the bag with the potatoes. Using this technique, you will get the maximum shelf life out of your potatoes
