Gaining access to US-specific sites
There are some sites that are specific to a country of origin. For example, you can't watch TV on Hulu if you are outside the US. So what if you are outside the US and you want to gain access to a US-only site?
The answer is a free VPN service. There are services like hotspot shield (http://www.hotspotshield.com/) and AlwaysVPN (http://alwaysvpn.com/index.html) that allow you to use their free VPN service. When you are using their VPN service, which is located in the US, *all* of your requests appear to come from the US so you can bypass any restrictions that are specific to your actual country of origin.
