Customize Mac Spaces

The Spaces feature on Mac Leopard is great. But the one thing it lacks is the ability to customize the look and feel of a Space. I've been wishing they had this for a long time since I think it'd make it a lot easier to know exactly where I am at a glance.

A third-party app called Hyperspaces now makes this possible. It's still in Beta, but it's awesome. It allows you to customize each space the way you want using different colors, wallpaper, text labels and more. You can even name each space. If you are a dedicated Spaces user, you gotta check this out. It's free to try.
