Automatically close Outlook emails

You can configure Outlook so that if you reply or forward an email it automatically closes the email message for you. If you spend a lot of time doing this, this can make your process a lot quicker.

To set this up go to "Tools" > "Options..." in the menu. Go to the "Preferences" tab if that's not where you already are and click on the "E-main Options..." button.

In the "Message handling" section there's an entry "Close original message on reply or forward". Check the box next to this then push the OK button a couple of times to save your changes.

Now when you reply or forward an email in Outlook, it will automatically close it for you.
