Getting dogs to swallow pills

The best way to get a dog to swallow a pill is to hide the pill in some food. The best foods are those that can be easily molded to hide the pill and those that are foods dogs like. I think the best choice is cream cheese. Dogs love it, it's easily molded, and it holds it's shape once you get the pill hidden in it.

To make it even more full-proof, give your dog three helpings of the treat. The first helping just has the treat with no pill. The second helping has the pill hidden in it. The third helping is twice the size of the first two helpings. The moment the dog gets the second help with the treat, show them the super-sized third helping. Once they see it, they will quickly swallow the helping with the pill in it so that they are ready for the super-treat.
