When giving a little kid a bath, it's almost certain that they will get a combination of water/shampoo in their eyes when you are washing their hair. Despite the fact that we use a baby shampoo, and our kids open their eyes under water when swimming, they really hate getting water in their eyes when we rise the shampoo out of their hair. It used to result in a lot of crying a fusing until we found a simple solution. Just keep a dry wash cloth beside the tub. When they get water in their eyes, hand it to them so that they can dry their eyes off. This has worked really well for our kids.
