Shortcut for windows dialog boxes

When you get a dialog box in Windows most of the time all you are doing is hitting the "OK" button or its equivalent. But every time a dialog box pops up, you need to find it, read it, read the buttons, then move the mouse over to the ubiquitous "OK" button before clicking. There is a way to make this easier and quicker. Windows has a setting that will automatically put the mouse over the "OK" button for you so that you don't need to hunt around with the mouse before clicking the button. You can just rid and click the mouse where it lies.

The setting differs slightly based on your version of Windows. Here's how to set this in XP and Vista.

In XP go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Mouse. Once the Mouse panel opens, select the Pointer Options tab. Check the box next to Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box and then click, OK.

If you are using Vista open the click on the Start button and type mouse into the search box. When you get the results, click on Mouse to open the Mouse properties. Again you will click on the Pointer Options tab and then check the box next to Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box.

Once you make this change you'll find that it's much easier to work your way through the many dialog boxes that you get in Windows.
