Hack AppleTV

There's a hack out for Apple TV that allows you to use your Apple TV for any kind of digital media, not just the DRM-controlled media that is offered through iTunes. The hack auto-runs from a thumb drive. Basically you download the hack onto a thumb drive, plug it into your Apple TV while it is off, then turn on Apple TV. The hack will load itself onto Apple TV automatically and after several restarts your APple TV menus will be update to include a "Boxee" option which will allow you to watch DRM-free media.

The Boxee hack is currently in alpha. You need to go to their site and sign up for an invite. Invites can be shared. So if you know someone who has one that's probably the quickest way to get this hack up on your Apple TV.
