Showing 24-hour time in XP
Setting up the clock in Windows XP to show the time in a 24-hour format is not obvious. You might thing you should be able to double-click on the clock and set this in the "Date and Time Properties". You'd be wrong. If you want to set 24-time on the clock here are the steps you need to take.
1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click on "Regional and Language Options".
3. In the "Regional Options" tab, click on the "Customize..." button.
4. Click on the Time tab.
5. Change the selection in the "Time format" entry. The options that have "tt" on the end are for 12-hour time and the options *without* the "tt" on the end are for a 24-hour clock.
6. Click the "OK" buttons to save your changes and leave.
You'd think that setting something as basic as the time format would be easier. But now you know how to adjust the clock to show 24-hour times.
