Global Pass makes it's easy to surf the web no matter what sort of firewall or filter there is in place. At the simplest level, they offer a proxy service on their site. You can go there and enter the URL of the site you want to go to and they'll proxy the request (and all subsequent requests for you). While that's nice, it's nothing special. Proxy services are all of over the web and eventually they get blocked too.

But they also offer a second more extreme measure: software you can download and run that allow you to surf completely anonymously over an encrypted channel. This will allow you to bypass any censorship, firewalling, or filters on the net. The software does NOT need to be installed on the computer. You can keep it on a flash drive and run it from there.
