Google maps has a cool new feature you should check out if you need driving directions. Once you get a map with driving directions, you can move your mouse along the route. As you do so a white circle will appear. You can then click on the white circle and drag it to any other road on the map and it'll recalculate the route so that it takes you to this point on the map. Once it figures out the new route, you can keep adding new circles/points of interest along the way and it'll figure out the best route for you.
