Remove the Windows Vista startup sound
Windows Vista makes it easy to remove the sound that gets played when you start up your computer. If you are tired of hearing the sound when you start up your computer here's how to get rid of it.
- Open up the Control Panel and type sound into the search box.
- From the search results, click on the change system sounds link. It'll be in the Sounds section of the results.
- Uncheck the box next to Play Windows Startup sound and click OK.
You're done. Next time you start up your computer, there will be no startup sound played.
