Keep your kitchen knives sharp

The worst thing you can do for a kitchen knife is to store it in a drawer. When you store knifes in a drawer, the blades knock together as the drawer is opened and closed and this leads to immediate dulling of your knife blades. If you want to keep your knife blades sharp, you need to store them so that the blades don't touch anything, or the stuff they do touch is soft, like wood. Probably the best option is a wood knife rack. It's cheap and easy, and it'll keep your knives from getting nicked up and dull.
