Improving wireless router range
Daily Wireless has a nice article here with tips on how to improve the range of your wireless router.
The most surprising tip I saw was the one about the antenna on the wireless router. I was not aware that better, and directional, antennas were even available. I'll probably try this some time soon just to see how well it works.
From my experience, the best thing you can do is get a repeater. At my house, this really improved the signal strength.
