Ripening green tomatoes

If you've got cold weather coming and you still have green tomatoes on your plants, pick them anyways. You can still get them ripe. Wrap the green tomatoes up in newspaper and then store them in a cool dark place (I use the back of a closet). Check them every couple of days. Eventually they will ripen into a nice red color.
