Get rid of the dog when searching in XP
When you search your computer in XP there is a little animated dog that "helps" you... it walks around, wags it's tail, and generally annoys the s--t out of any sane person trying to get their work done. His name is Rover, and I suppose he is marginally less annoying than Bob the talking paper clop. But if you use search often on your computer, you'll certainly want to get rid of this annoying blot on your desktop.
To do this, start search (Start -> Search -> For Files or Folders...). Once there, click on the "Change preferences" option at the bottom of the list you are shown. You can then click on the "Without an animated screen character" link to get rid of the dog.
If you want to annoying your co-workers, you'll also notice there is a link called "With a different character" where you can choose from a list of even more annoying animated punsters. Go to your co-workers computers and have some fun with them by gracing their search screen with some of these things.
