Cleaning walls in your house
Most walls are painted with flat latex paint. This type of paint does not stand up well to harsh cleaners or to scrubbing. If you do either, the paint will come off the wall. To clean them, use the following solution (wear gloves when using this solution):
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/8 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup ammonia
- 1/2 gallon warm water
Before you starting to clean the walls, vacuum them. This will remove surface dirt and prevent you from pushing the dirt into the wall.
Once vacuumed, use old rags, socks, and shirts for cleaning. Don't use a sponge as a sponge will get torn apart by the texture on the wall, leaving piece everywhere. Dip the rag into the cleaning material and gently rub the wall. Check the rag to make sure it is not taking off paint. Use a separate rag dipped in clean water to rinse the wall once you are done cleaning.
